Water safety for toddlers
Jun 11, 2024
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends safety around all water - from buckets to toilets to bathtubs and swimming pools, rivers, lakes and beyond. Constant vigilant supervision around all water is first and foremost for toddlers. Swimming lessons are fun, beneficial and potentially life saving. Even for toddlers with floating arm bands or vests, constant supervision is still a must. All toddlers should be fitted properly with life jackets when near open water. All swimming pool fences should self-close and self-latch. There should always be a designated water watcher during pool time. Finally, caregivers of toddlers should refresh their CPR training online.
